Alice Louise "Suze" (Smith) McQuown, age 80 of Punxsutawney, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017 at home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. McQuown was born on September 8, 1936 in Grange, a daughter of the late Frank and Esther (Doverspike) Smith.6
She was a member of the Woodland Avenue United Methodist Church. She loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren and she also loved gardening and baking bread.
On August 6, 1955 she married her husband of 61 and 1/2 years, Wilmer McQuown.
In addition to her husband Wilmer, she is survived by two sons; James (Peggy) McQuown, Stephen (Annette) McQuown, four daughters; Christine (Dave) Small, Deborah (Clif) Dobson, Susan (Terry) Kennedy, Mary (Leanard) Hoover, all of Punxsutawney except for Sue, who resides in Hamilton, twelve grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters; Twila Enterline, Maude Whitesell, Mary Smith, Levi Smith, Alda Maloof, Joseph Smith, Evangeline Best, Robert Smith, Maurice Smith, and one granddaughter; Danielle Marie Small.
Friends will be received from 12-2 PM on Monday May 15, 2017 at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney, where a funeral service will follow at 2 PM with Pastor Clint Phillips officiating.
Interment is private for family.
