Arlene Mae Voris, 89, of Punxsutawney, formerly of Mahaffey, passed away on Friday July 23, 2021 at Clarion Hospital.
She was born May 5, 1932 to Rev. Clifford R. and Mable (Shafer) Doverspike in Troutville.
Arlene was a long-standing member of Chestnut Grove Independent Church where she played the organ and piano, she was formerly the Bell Township, Clearfield County, tax collector, and volunteer for the American Red Cross. Arlene enjoyed attending Bethel Park Church Camp in New Paris, where her father and mother were instrumental in founding the camp. She also enjoyed, crafts, music and reading.
She is survived by five children, Kenneth R. Voris and wife Melanie, Mahaffey, Timothy J. Voris and wife Sharon, Mahaffey, Beverly Collins and husband James, Lucinda, Ronald E. Voris and wife Jill, Punxsutawney, William A. Voris, Mahaffey, 12 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, a brother Rev. Fred Doverspike and wife Connie of Rochester Mills, and a sister Thelma Bence and husband Dale, Schellsburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Voris, a sister Verla Shafer and a brother Rev. C. Leroy Doverspike.
Friends will be received from 4-8 PM on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at the McCabe Funeral Home Inc., 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767. Friends will also be received on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, 503 East Main St., Mahaffey, PA 15757, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
Burial will take place at North Freedom United Methodist Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethel Park Church Camp, 1390 Reynoldsdale Road, New Paris, PA 15554.
