Bernard A. “Bernie” Lee, 84 of Mahaffey, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023 at the Hollidaysburg Veterans’ Home.

 

He was born December 21, 1938, to Samuel S. Lee and Anna (Ott) Lee in Lilly.

 

Bernie was a member of Calvary Chapel Church, Mahaffey and served as a deacon at the Pentecostal Tabernacle Church of Armagh, He was one of 15 children in his family.  Bernie honorably served with the United States Army. He worked construction most of his life and there were not many jobs he couldn’t perform. He enjoyed, tending to his vegetable garden and his chickens. He was a big fan of watching old western movies, especially John Wayne. Bernie loved his white house ice cream, and his usual breakfast of two fried eggs, and toast with strawberry jelly. Most of all Bernie loved his family. 

 

He is survived by two sons, Dale A. Lee, Mahaffey, David A. Lee and wife Carol, Armagh, two daughters, Bonnie J. Francis and husband Stewart, Flinton, Angel Chilcote and husband Randy, Mahaffey, nine grandchildren, Shane D. Lee, Heather and Ezekial Lee, Victoria Chilcote-Jarvie, Logan A. Chilcote, Lane T. Chilcote, Hunter L. Francis, Makayla R. Francis, Maya L. Francis, five great-grandchildren Greyden and Dayton Custer, Lallie Chilcote, Ezekiel E. Lee and Chase Jarvie.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 58 years, Beverly (Adams) Lee, November 18, 2021, a daughter Carrie L. Lee, a son Dennis R. Lee and a grandson Levi A. Chilcote.

 

Friends will be received on Friday from 3:00 PM until the time of service at 5:00 PM at the Waldron Funeral Home, 831 Market Street, Mahaffey, PA 15757.
