Bertha Mae (Anderson) Snyder, 96 of Punxsutawney, went to be with the Lord on

Tuesday, March 9, 2021.

She was born September 18, 1924 in Punxsutawney to Oscar and Grace (Anthony) Anderson in Punxsutawney.

On July 30, 1946, she married the love of her life Paul W. Snyder. They enjoyed 62 years of marriage together. Paul passed away on November 30, 2008. She worked in her younger years at

Sylvania in Emporium and Brookville, and also at Rolo Jensen in Punxsutawney. Bertha was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Anita. She and her husband Paul were Pastor’s there for 8 1/2 years. In her later years she attended First Church of God with Jay and Mel.

For years Bertha visited residents in personal care and nursing homes, to share God’s love with residents and praying with them as they gave their hearts and souls to the Lord.

Bertha was loved by many. She openly told everyone she wanted to go meet Jesus. She loved being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed, but will continue to live forever in our hearts and memories.

She is survived by a daughter, Melodee (Mel) Hoover and husband Jay, Punxsutawney. Two daughters-in-law, Helen (Vasbinder) Snyder, Punxsutawney, PA and Diane (Defelice) Snyder Powell, Punxsutawney, 8 grandchildren, Marcey (Mottern) Bish and husband Blaine, Eagle River, AK, Teresa (Mottern) Atwell and husband Tim, Brookville, PA, Alicia (Mottern) Hurd and husband Rob, Woodbridge, VA, Marty Snyder and wife Val, Punxsutawney, PA

Missy (Snyder) Houck and husband Jason, Warsaw, VA, Paul Snyder and wife Jessica, Punxsutawney,

ReNea Snyder, Enola, PA,

and Julie (Snyder) Yenzi and husband Corey, Reynoldsville, 15 great grandchildren, a sister, Marjorie (Anderson) Ferra, a sister-in-law, Jean Anderson, both of Punxsutawney, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.

An honorable recognition to her sincere friends in her later years of her life, Julie Hoover, Tammy Charles, Karen Burkett, Deb Mottern, Carolyn Johnson, all who loyally sent cards, flowers, etc., along with their love. Thank You.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul, a daughter Darlene Snyder, two sons, Dennis and Paul Snyder, four brothers, Emory, Herman, Amos, and Wayne Anderson.

Services are private for the family. Her nephew Kevin Ferra will officiate services.

Interment will take place at Hopewell Cemetery, Frostburg.

The McCabe Funeral Home Inc, of Punxsutawney have been entrusted with the arrangements.
