Betty Jane (Bernardo) Mlechick

Betty Jane Mlechick, 89, of Punxsutawney, formerly of Reynoldsville, passed away Friday, June 24, 2022 at the DuBois Nursing Home.

She was born November 24, 1932 to Feor and Susanne (Vadsey) Bernardo in Punxsutawney.

Betty liked sitting on her porch watching the birds and other wildlife. She enjoyed shopping with her daughter when she could. Betty loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and listening to certain radio stations and TV channels. Betty was a remarkable woman who would do anything for anyone.

She is survived by a daughter Diane Helt and Jim Reed, Punxsutawney, three sons, Joseph Mlechick Jr, James Mlechick, Kenneth Mlechick, all of Reynoldsville, three granddaughters, three grandsons, numerous, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Paul Bair Jr., numerous sisters and three brothers.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM at the McCabe Funeral Home Inc, 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767.

Burial will take place at St. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to her daughter, Diane Helt, 200 Horatio, Street, Punxsutawney, PA 15767, for cemetery expenses.
