Carl L. Michael, 69 of LaJose, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Penn Highlands, DuBois.
He was born May 16, 1952 to Homer L. and Mary E. “Libby” (Smith) Michael in Spangler.
He was a very active member of LaJose Word of God Church. Carl oversaw many aspects of the church including song leading, maintenance and sharing his faith with others. He and his wife Sharon would sing at church services and events. Singing was one of Carl and Sharon’s favorite activities at church. He owned and operated Michael Autobody for over 40 years. He started the business from the ground-up. He was very passionate about many things, but especially the environment. Carl was a Chest Township supervisor for 10 years. He belonged to the Chest Township Concerned Citizens who was against the landfill. He was a member of the Chest Creek Watershed, a member of Susquehanna Rod and Gun Club. Carl enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, helping with the Grange Fair, following local high school sports, and following his Pittsburgh sports teams.
Carl was generous with his time, always helping and doing something for someone. He made friends with everyone he met with his kind eyes, big smile and warm heart. Family was his pride and joy and he made certain we all felt his love.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years whom he married June 4, 1988, Sharon A. (Perry) Michael, LaJose, a son and two daughters, Adam L. Michael, LaJose, Amber J. Burris and husband Jeremy, Monroeville, Erica C. Rose and husband Shawn, Westover, four grandchildren, Ogden and Eliana Burris, Gavin and Brady Rose, two sisters, Rowena Fleshman, Maryland, Eva Jean Kitchen, and husband Terry, Mahaffey, a brother William R. “Dick” Michael, and wife Bess, LaJose, and numerous nieces and nephews, and his favorite K-9 companion, Sissy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother David Michael.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Waldron Funeral Home, 831 Market Street, Mahaffey, PA 15757. Friends will also be received on Saturday, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at the LaJose Word of God Church, 60 Market Street, LaJose, PA 15753. Burial will follow at LaJose Cemetery, LaJose.
