Catherine Jane (Byers) Stagner

Catherine Jane Stagner, 99, of Clearfield, formerly of Punxsutawney, passed away Tuesday August 30, 2022 in Clearfield.

She was born June 3, 1923 to Merle and Susan (Hineman) Byers in Mahaffey.

Catherine was mostly in good health all of her 99 years

She was a member of the Chestnut Grove Independent Church. Catherine enjoyed crocheting, baking, and cooking. She loved visiting with family and friends.

She is survived by her five nieces Teresa S. Evilsizor and husband Jim, Clearfield, Melissa Keith and husband Randy, Baltimore, MD, Karen Corson and husband Jack, Williamsport, Carol Forberger and husband Jim, OH, Sherry Burkett and husband Curt, Punxsutawney, four nephews, Steven Byers and wife Dianne, Clearfield, John Bakaysa and wife Kasy, Mahaffey, Danny Passmore and Darcy Passmore, and a sister-in-law, Olive Byers, Lancaster.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Russell Stagner in 2010, a brother Richard, Arthur, and Eugene Byers, a sister Louise Bakaysa and a sister Betty Ann and other numerous family members.

Friends will be received on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at Chestnut Grove Independent Church, 342 Lipp Road, Punxsutawney, PA 15767, with Rev. Joe Spack and Rev. James Evilsizor officiating.

Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill E.U.B. Cemetery, Gaskill Township, Punxsutawney.

The Waldron Funeral Home of Mahaffey has been entrusted with the arrangements.
