David J. Depp, 66 of Punxsutawney, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017 at his home, while surrounded by his loving family.
David was born February 27, 1950 in Punxsutawney, a son of the late James H. and Bonnie Jean (Hickox) Depp.
He was married to his wife, Pamela, on July 11, 1994.
He enjoyed woodworking, spending time at Pine Creek Village, his sister's camp, watching the Steelers and Pirates, and collecting Vietnam memorabilia. He was a proud Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran, who served from 1968-1972 as a Marine Combat Veteran- Force Recon. He adored his grandchildren, and enjoyed attending all of their games. He was known for his great sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela J. (Lantz), one son; Bradey Depp of Punxsutawney, two daughters; Beverley Kay Newara and Larry Satterlee of Juneau, Becky Depp Stiffler of Cherry Tree, one step-son; David Gotwald of Punxsutawney, one step-daughter; Tricia Waltman and husband, John, of Punxsutawney, one brother; Edward Depp and wife, Nancy, of Mahaffey, one sister; Mary Jo Depp-Nestlrode and husband, Daniel, of State College, twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the funeral home, with Pastor Paul Ritchey officiating.
