Dora P. Hartman

Dora P. Hartman, 90, of Davie, Florida and formerly of Punxsutawney, passed away on November 11, 2023.

She was born September 24, 1933 to Charles and Alma (Glontz) Shaffer in Punxsutawney.

Dora graduated from Punxsutawney High School in 1951. She raised her family in Liverpool and then Earlville, NY before settling in Florida. Dora was a member of Community Church of Davie, FL.  

She is survived by her sons: Richard Hartman, husband to Tammi Hartman, of Davie, FL; James (Rob) Hartman of Coconut Creek, FL; and her daughter Michelle Murphy of Fort Lauderdale, FL.  She had three granddaughters: Tracy Freitag (husband, Paul), Jennifer Hartman, and Jennifer Borneman; and two grandsons: Jack and Thomas Murphy. She was proud to have five great-grandchildren: Donovan and Daelyn Lopez, Rich and Trip Freitag, and Greydon Borneman.  She is also survived by her brother James Shaffer of Punxsutawney, PA and her sister Willavene Dobson of Phoenix, AZ.

She was the former owner of Pauline’s Shoppe in Earlville NY, a one-stop shop, famous for penny candy. She was a top sales woman for Avon for which she won many awards that she showcased proudly in her home. She cared for thousands as a waitress in her later years; always wanting to keep busy. She loved Christ, her family, and her dog, Sandy. Pauline, as her close friends called her, was a collector; a collector of dolls, Christmas decorations and trinkets, figurines, and most importantly, loved ones and memories. She will be greatly missed.
 
Services were held at 11am on Saturday, November 18th at Oliveburg Presbyterian Church, SR 36/208 Spring Rd, Oliveburg, Pennsylvania 15764.
