Edith A. Snyder

Edith A. Snyder, 92 of Punxsutawney passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Jefferson Manor in Brookville. Mrs. Snyder was born December 17,1924 in Porter Twp., a daughter of the late James Adams and Florence (Hawk) Shick. Edith was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Snyder on August 9, 1987. They were married July 3, 1942. Edith was a member of Countryside Baptist Church. She loved gardening, quilting,baking and just being with her family.She is survived by her daughters; Donna Jo Snyder of Ligonier, Rita Shreckengost and husband Howard of New Bethlehem, Lisa Bundy and husband Dale of Punxsutawney, eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two brothers; Charles Adams and wife Mildred, Charles Shick of Lorain, OH., two sisters; Mona Smithberger and husband Dale of Lorain, OH., Doris Smouse of Wellsboro and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Joseph, she was preceded in death by four brothers; Mervin, Russell, Boyd and Clair Adams and one sister; Esther Kunselman. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Sunday, January 15, 2017 at The McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Monday, January 16, 2017 at Dora Evangelical Church with Pastor Don Pendley officiating. Interment will follow at Dora Cemetery.
