Eugene V. Baranauskas

Eugene V. Baranauskas, 78, of Punxsutawney, passed away October 25, 2016 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital. He was a guest at Mulberry Square Edler Care for the past year.
Eugene was born January 1, 1938 in DuBois, a son of the late Joseph Baranauskas who was a firefighter for 50 years and Julia (Palsis) Baranauskas.
Eugene loved being a fireman, hunting, fishing being a cowboy and his gun. He enjoyed many happy times and very close friends at Camp Friendship where he belonged for 22 years.
He is survived by his brother; Robert Baranauskas and wife Janice of Westford, PA., his second family; Cookie and Bill of Punxsutawney, his special firefighter friends Bill and Denise, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers; Joseph and Albert Baranauskas and very close and loved friends; Sherwin Farmery and Jim Michael.
Friends will be received from 5-7 pm Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the McCabe Funeral home of Punxsutawney where a Blessing Service will be held at 7 pm with Msgr. Joseph Riccardo as Celebrant.
Private interment will follow on Friday at St. Joseph Cemetery, DuBois.
