Eugene "Gene" C. Madden, Jr.

Eugene “Gene” Carroll Madden, Jr., 76, of Rossiter, passed away on October 10, 2023 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

He was born July 29, 1947 to Eugene and Margaret (Koch) Madden in Linz, Austria.  Gene came to the United States with his mother and grew up in Vienna, Virginia.  After graduating, Gene served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.  During his working years, he was a commercial refrigeration technician and he also taught HVAC classes.  He was an avid gun enthusiast and an animal lover.  He enjoyed living a simple life on his farm.

Gene is survived by three sisters; Sharon Dove, Karen Reid, and Stephanie (Brian) Vaughan, four grandchildren; Greg Madden, Timothy (Amanda) Madden, Scott Madden and Kevin Madden, Jr. all of Virginia, and seven great grandchildren and a daughter in law, Donna (Armstrong) Madden.

He was preceded in death by his wife Susan Virginia (Heinzl) Madden, his two sons, John Madden and Kevin Madden, Sr. and a sister, Christina (Madden) Snowden.

McCabe Funeral Home, Inc. has been entrusted with the arrangements which will be private.
