Florence Loraine Pierce

Florence L. Pierce, 97, of Mahaffey passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Miners Hospital in Hastings.

She was born April 9, 1926 to the late William and Winnetta Faught-Bailey in Patchinville.

Florence attended the East Ridge-Harmony United Methodist Church. She retired from Carol Ann Fashions in Hastings after many years of working as a seamstress. She took pride in her work and made many outfits for her friends and family. She enjoyed her retirement, sitting on the porch, taking care of her flower boxes, taking walks, going for ice cream, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by two daughters; Norma Stabley and husband Ron, Northern Cambria, and Sally Westover and husband Edward, La Jose, six grandchildren; Daniel Ross, Suzanne Koziel and husband Bradley, Stephanie Nelson and husband Richard, Norman Westover and Jeneen, Kristen Stabley and wife Amanda, and Craig Stabley and wife Tiffany, as well as nine great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, three nieces; Sandy Michael, Judy Pogue, and Brenda Michael, and numerous half brothers and sisters.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Floyd T. Pierce on February 16, 2020, a daughter, Carol Ann (Pierce) Ross, a brother, Truman “Bill” Faught, a sister, Mary E. (Pierce) Michael, a son-in-law, Ray Ross, and a brother-in-law, Thomas J. Michael.

Friends will be received on Friday from 5 -7:00 PM at the Waldron Funeral Home, 831 Market Street, Mahaffey, PA 15757. A funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Jim Smith officiating.

Interment will take place at Harmony Cemetery.
