Gertrude E. (Anderson) Lee-Sweely, aka "Dete", of Curwensville, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017 surrounded by her family at home.
Gertrude was born June 20, 1929 in Croton-on-Hudson, NY to her late parents Oscar and Daisy Fryer Anderson.
Dete was a member of the Martin Luther Church in Punxsutawney. Her working life began at Kent and Target Sportswear companies, then worked many years at Benjamin Coal Co. before retiring.
She is survived by one son; David Lee (Lucy) of Curwensville, three daughters; Susan Henry (Garry) of Marion Center, Laurie Burba (Richard) of Cherry Tree, Pamela Risser (Robert) of Mahaffey, six grandchildren; Bryan Lee, Jeremy Lee (Meri Ann), Evan Rainey (Liz), Cory Elling (Ashley), Josh Elling (Shana), Frank Elling and nine great grandchildren; Anderson, Oliver, Everett and Eliot Lee, Jayden Rainey, Alexis, Savannah, Tristan and Tanner Elling. Two step-children survive, Randy Wright of Matawan, NJ and Irvin Wright of Palmdale, CA, and Wilma Wright.
In addition to her first husband David Lee, and second husband; Robert Sweely, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter; Beth Rainey Vanderneck, three brothers; Carl, Ivan, and John Anderson and one sister; Ellen Anderson, as well as step-children Donald Wright and Dianne Huey.
Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Sunday, June 25, 2017 at the Waldron Funeral Home in Mahaffey.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am Monday, June 26th at the funeral home with Rev. Kenneth Zitsch officiating.
Interment is private for family.
