Gilbert L. “Gom” Bowser, 70, of Punxsutawney, peacefully passed away at his home, Sunday October 3, 2021, with his family by his side
He was born August 27, 1951 to Emma (Harris) Bowser in Punxsutawney.
Gom was a 1969 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School. He retired after 35 years from Kriebel Well Services as a field production supervisor. Gom was a member of a few organizations but he was most proud of being a founding member of Big Run Camp. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying all aspects of the outdoors. Gom loved spending time at Big Run Camp, no matter what season it was. Most of all he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Kathy L. (Hibner) Bowser, Punxsutawney, whom he married August 18, 1984, a son Aaron G. Bowser and wife Abigail, Dallas, TX, a daughter, Lauren K. Vezza and husband, Andy, Clearfield, two grandchildren, Emma and Ethan Vezza, two brothers, Ralph Bowser and wife Glenda, FL, Terry Bowser and wife Wanda, Punxsutawney, a sister Darlene Aldridge and husband Bud, Punxsutawney, three brother-in-laws, Dee Hibner and wife Linda, NY, John Hibner and wife Kathy, DuBois, Ed Bowser, Mahaffey, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister Ellen Bowser.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 3:00 PM until the time of service at 6:00 PM at the
McCabe Funeral Home Inc., 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Hahne Cancer Center, 100 Hospital Ave., DuBois, PA 15801
