Grace E. (Motter) Test, 96, of Punxsutawney passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023. She was born in Big Run on April 24, 1927 and was the daughter of Fred and Clare (Fireman) Motter. She was married to Anthony F. Test and was co-owner with him of The Matterhorn Company.
Grace was a 1945 graduate of Punxsutawney High School and after graduation worked as a secretary at the Pentagon. Later, she returned to Punxsy and worked at various jobs until she married Anthony. Grace was the mother of five children and a member of Saints Cosmas & Damian Roman Catholic Church.
After raising her children, she graduated from Punxsy Beauty School and worked as a beautician for many years. Grace enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling and spending time with her family, especially putting puzzles together with her great grandson and “little buddy”, Jayven. She was a wonderful and loving mother and a very kind person with an engaging smile. The family thanks Senior Assist, Mahoning Riverside Manor and Hospice 365 for all the wonderful care they gave our Mother.
Grace is survived by her children: Frances (John) Crago, Sandra (Michael) Pearce, John (Zaira) Test and Frank (Bobbie) Test. Also surviving are her grandchildren: David Crago, Justin (Jessica) Crago, Malia (Nathan) Diehl, Doctor Joshua Pearce and Dr. Jen Bow, Doctor Solomon Pearce, Mary Rachel (David) Austin, Elijah (Ashley) Pearce, Ramon (Heather) Test, Brandy (Joe) Speir, Ashley Lockwood, Julie, Nina and Antonio Test and 23 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Joyce Freeman, son-in-law David Williams, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Grace was predeceased by her daughter Janice Williams, her great grandson Dylan Speir, her sister-in-law Elenor Camerata and brother-in-law Phillip Camerata. She was also preceded in death by her eleven siblings and their spouses.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 Friday at McCabe Funeral Home, Inc., 114 Maple Avenue, Punxsutawney, PA 15767. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11am on Saturday at Saints Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church in Punxsutawney with Msgr. Joseph Riccardo, celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross or the ALS Foundation.
