Harry L. “Larry” Rankin, 79, of Punxsutawney, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021, surrounded by his family at UPMC Shadyside.
He was born October 02, 1941, to Harry J. and Genevieve (Cokley) Rankin in Punxsutawney.
Larry was a lifelong member of the Albion United Methodist Church. He retired from Thermal Guard after 31 years. Larry enjoyed his vegetable garden, hunting, and loved walleye fishing at Pymatuning Lake. He was known by his family and friends for his cooking skills and famous fish frys.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nancye I. (Sprankle) Rankin, Punxsutawney, a son,
William E. “Bill” Rankin and wife Erin Keogh-Rankin, Nashville, TN, two daughters,
Stephanie R. Rankin and fiancé Henry Walker, Houtzdale, Marcie J. Huey and husband Greg, Punxsutawney, two grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a brother Dennis J. Rankin, and wife Sue, Punxsutawney.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Judith Marie.
A private family farewell was held at the McCabe Funeral Home Inc., Punxsutawney.
