Herbert M. Haagen

Herbert M. Haagen of Punxsutawney, passed away on November 14, 2024 at home surrounded by his family.

He was born on November 17, 1945 to John Rex and Sarah Kathryn (Davis) Haagen.

He married his high school sweetheart, Joyce E. (Hopkins) Haagen, on June 25, 1966 and spent a long 58 years with her. Throughout his working years, Herbert worked as a dedicated truck driver. He started delivering milk for his family farm. Going then to work for Lorree Footwear, Ed Smith, ST&E, and Zimmermans. Hobbies that he enjoyed included woodworking and mechanical work. Herbert loved spending time with his family more than anything. 

Herbert is survived by two daughters, Michele Zarak (Wayne) of Ohio and Kim Reichard (Russ) of Punxsutawney; two sons, Ronald Haagen (Ruth) of Troutville and Dwayne Haagen (Judie) of Punxsutawney; and eight grandchildren, Megan Kean, Brittany Sloniger, Kevin McClintock, Jacob Reichard, Jesse Reichard, Aaron Flanders, Dustin Flanders, and Kenny Flanders, along with fourteen great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind four brothers, John Haagen (Elaine Ruys) of Beaverton, Oregon, Ed Haagen (Maralee) of Moscow, Idaho, Jim Haagen (Thelma) of Hardinsburg, Kentucky, and Pat Haagen (Debbie), of Chehalis, Washington

He was preceded in death by his wife, and parents.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 19th, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McCabe Funeral Home, located at 114 Maple Avenue, Punxsutawney, PA 15767. Additional visitation will take place on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at McDowell Cemetery.
