Homer G. Rugh

Homer G. Rugh, 89 of Punxsutawney passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022 at AM-PM Personal Care in Delancey.

He was born May 27, 1932 to Homer G. and Mary (Quinn) Rugh in Grange.

Homer was an active member of the Scotland Avenue Church of God. He served on the board of trustees, maintenance committee and missions board. He married Dianne (Yount) Rugh on November 19, 1955, together they enjoyed 66 years of marriage. She preceded him in death on April 4, 2022. He graduated from Punxsutawney Area High School in 1952. He was employed by Spotts Music Center as an organ repair man for many years. Homer then was employed by the Punxsutawney Area School District until his retirement in 1997. He enjoyed fixing things and loved the church and spending time with his family.

He is survived by a daughter Cheryl L. Vallies and husband Gary, Punxsutawney, two granddaughters, Nikki Perrin and husband Jason, Punxsutawney, Dianna Vallies, Indiana, a great granddaughter Revy Perrin, a brother Donald Rugh and wife Barb, FL and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and infant daughter, Anne Christine Rugh, an infant sister Catherine Rugh, a sister Bonnie Gilbert and a brother Jim Rugh.

Friends will be received on Monday from 3-6 PM at the McCabe Funeral Home, 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767. A funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
