James E. Bennett

James E. Bennett, 87 of Mahaffey passed away Friday, February 10, 2023 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital.

He was born June 18, 1935 to Sanor and Alma Bennett in Mahaffey.

Jim was a member of the Mahaffey Christian Missionary Alliance Church.  He was a retired coal miner working for several local coal companies. Jim enjoyed hunting and riding dirt bikes and four-wheelers. Most of all he enjoyed relaxing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his son Bill Bennett and wife Melissa, Mahaffey, four grandchildren; Amber Bennett, and fiancé Matt Arnett, Jacob Bennett and wife Debbie, Madison Bennett and Lucille Bennett, four great grandchildren; Austin, Jakoby, Aurora, and one on the way, two sisters; Lois Johnson and Louise Gibson and a brother, Sanor Bennett Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary Jane Bennett and an infant daughter.

Services will be private.

The Waldron Funeral Home of Mahaffey has been entrusted with the arrangements.
