James M. Catalano

James M. Catalano, 65 of Rossiter, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at his home. 

He was born on July 20, 1959, to Francis Dominic and Nancy (Deter) Catalano in Rossiter.

Jim was a graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School. He then worked for Heatager Drilling. Jim then worked as a tree trimmer for various tree trimming companies. He enjoyed working outside, in nature. Jim was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed watching motocross racing. He loved hunting and talking hunting to anyone who would listen. Most of all Jim loved his family and his pets. One of his favorite things was to take his dog Ranger for rides in his side by side. 

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Michelle “Shelly” (Pisarcik) Catalano, Rossiter, his dog Ranger and Alley Cat. two sisters, Carol Tyger (Larry) DuBois, Merry Jo “Jodi” Clinton, (Dave), Rockton, father-in-law, John Pisarcik, Rossiter, three sisters-in-law, Johnna Cameron (Greg) Punxsutawney, Alissa “Sis” Aul, (Curt), Punxsutawney, Amy Lynn Travis (Jeff), Punxsutawney, several nieces and nephews, Lori Nicholson-Srock, Crystal Huffman, Tracy Tyger, Tara Stockdale, Nick Catalano, Scott Tyger, Brandon Weaver, Cassi and Chloe Aul, and numerous great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, David “Frizzy” Catalano, a sister Lynn James, a nephew Shayne Gaston, and his mother-in-law, Joyce Pisarcik.

Friends will be received on Thursday, December 26, 2024, from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM at the McCabe Funeral Home, Inc., 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767, with Janet Chiplis officiating. 

Interment will take place at Union Cemetery Rossiter.
