James McKendree, 75, of Coolspring, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
He was born on April 5, 1949, in New York to James Peter and Mildred Viola (Anthony) McKendree
Jim graduated from Punxsutawney High School in 1969. Shortly after his graduation, he entered the air force as a medical service specialist. He married the love of his life Becky Whitesell on July 3, 1971. He later worked as a heavy truck parts salesmen for both Brookville Equipment and Murray Ford. He had a love for many things in life. Hunting, turkey shoot, camping, fishing, dirt track racing, woodworking, cooking hobo dinners for his family, chili making contests, and picking blue berries in his patches.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years. He is also survived by a daughter; Traci Stello (Scott), Punxsutawney; a son, Mike McKendree (Beth), Brookville; three granddaughters; Brooke Stello (Luke Shiock), Bailee Stello, Breanna McKendree; and one grandson, Zachary McKendree; two sisters, Elaine Bish (Ken), Fairmont City, and Carol Blair (Denny), Kentucky; and one brother, Harry McKendree (Cheri), Big Run.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Dorothy Baumgardner, Lorraine Murray, and Thursa Cribbs.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2:00 PM until the time of service at 4:00 PM at the McCabe Funeral Home, Inc. 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grange Church of God, 97 N. Enterline Rd, Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
