James O. Saxe, 69, of Mahaffey, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018 at UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh. Jim was born December 2, 1948 in Mahaffey. He was the only son of the late George and Josephine (Lines) Saxe. He was a proud veteran of the US Army having served during the Vietnam era and also completing his tour of duty in Korea. He was a Spec 5 in the US Army Artillary Division. On November 28, 1970 he married his beloved wife of 48 years, Lois I. (Bennett) Saxe of Mahaffey who survives. He was the owner and operator of Saxe Body Shop in Curry Run for many years. He was very good at his work. He collected and restored antique toys which was his passion. He also loved watching NASCAR and hunting in his spare time. In addition to his wife Lois, he is survived by in laws; Patricia Dickey, Jean and Jimmer Young, Kathy Esposti, Debra Curry, Nancy and Merle Beatty, Donna and Scott Jenkins, Kim and Ed Turner and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by brothers in law; John Curry, Robert Bennett, Ed Esposti and George Dickey and his grandparents Otis and Zada Lines and Victor and Eulalia Saxe. Friends will be received from 4-8 pm Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at the Waldron Funeral Home in Mahaffey. Additional viewing will be held from 10 until 11 am time of service on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor Myron Wattenphul officiating.
