Jeffrey E. Lavender, 66, of Coolspring, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday evening, September 7, 2021, at his home with his wife by his side.
He was born March 13, 1955, to Ralph E. and Mary Ruth (Ison) Lavender in Franklin Furnace, Ohio.
Jeff was an active member of the Coolspring United Methodist Church where he was a Sunday School teacher, a lay minister and trombone player. He was a graduate of Clarion University with a degree in music education. Jeff was employed by MPP Innovation in Falls Creek for over 20 years. Jeff’s passion was music. He was a substitute music teacher in numerous school districts, including, Punxsutawney and Brookville. Jeff enjoyed playing his slide trombone, running, walking with his wife Gail, reading, collecting 33 LP records, and mowing, he was always busy doing something. Jeff loved his family, God and especially his wife Gail. They were both together all the time no matter where they were or what they were doing.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Gail D. (Hilliard) Lavender, Coolspring,
father and mother -in-law, Ray A. Hilliard and wife Lorraine, Coolspring,
sister-in-law, Kitty Hilliard, Punxsutawney, brother-in-law Kevin Douglas, Patton,
Nephew, Ian Douglas, Punxsutawney, a sister, Sharon Lavender, OH,
two brothers, Dwight Lavender and wife Irma, TX, Brad Lavender, OH, an uncle Alton Ison and wife Pat, OH., numerous cousins and his Coolspring United Methodist Church Family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Brenda Lavender.
Services are private. Interment will take place in Coolspring Cemetery.
