John E. Miller, 96 of Grampian, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
John was born January 19, 1921 in Clearfield, a son of the late John F. and Lydia (Spencer) Miller.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother; William K. Miller, and one sister; Jean Keiser.
He was a WWII US Army veteran serving in the Philippines.
John was a member of the Hepburnia United Methodist Church. He was the owner of John Miller Livestock Hauling after retiring from the B&O Railroad. He drove a school bus for Kip Gourley Bus Service in Clearfield for many years.
He is survived by by his loving wife of 77 years; Madeline (Wriglesworth) Miller, one son; John D. Miller (Grace) of Murrysville, three daughters; Carol Remen of Round Hill, VA, Cynthia Irwin of Grampian, and Constance Ogorchock (Tom) of Haymarket, VA, ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 pm Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the Waldron Funeral Home in Mahaffey.
Interment will follow in the Friends Cemetery, Grampian with the Grampian American Legion conducting military honors.
