P. Joyce Rumgay, 95, of Punxsutawney, peacefully passed away, Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Laurel Brooke Personal Care in Brookville.
She was born to D. Laird and Helen (Erickson) Tyger in Rossiter.
Joyce was a member of the First Church of God in Punxsutawney where she was proud of her involvement with the “Living Christmas Tree”. She was a longtime administrative assistant for Punxsutawney Borough, and retired from Ferraro and Young.
She enjoyed her Family and friends, researching her family tree, taking care of the family pets, and time spent at camp with her family and beloved cousins Billy and Betty Bell and their children, along the Alleghany River.
She is survived by her grandchildren Amy Bosnick and husband Phil, Kara Shields, Erica Rumgay and partner Mike, Charlie Rumgay, Chad Rumgay, daughter in law Pam Bantly and husband Dave, and daughter in law Rebecca Rumgay. Great grandchildren Colton, Caleb, Nathan, Avalee, and Sarah. Plus, several nephews and cousins, and Lifelong friend, Jamie Stello.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Rumgay, August 5, 1968 and her two sons, Gary Rumgay and Robert Rumgay and one brother Donald Tyger.
Services are private, Interment will take place at Union Hill Cemetery, Rossiter.
