June (Fitzgerald) Wright

June Wright, 97 of Punxsutawney, went to be with her Lord on Monday October 10, 2022 at Mahoning Riverside Manor.

She was born July 3, 1925 to George and Gaye (Conner) Fitzgerald in Glen Campbell.

June grew up in Glen Campbell, before moving to Jamestown NY, where she worked at Chautauqua Hardware for 20 years alongside her husband. They both retired and moved to Marienville. June lived the past 19 years in Punxsutawney. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Punxsutawney. She enjoyed attending baseball games, going for rides, having picnics, traveling, and family outings at camp, but most of all she loved spending time with her family at her home.

She is survived by by eight children, David Wright and wife Sandy, Jamestown, NY, Janice Matatall and husband Robert, Punxsutawney, Debbie Bergreen and husband Larry, Punxsutawney, Claude Wright, Falconer, NY, Jeff Wright, California, Lisa Collins and husband Lauren, Lake Wood, NY, George Wright, Sherman, NY, Tonya Foringer and husband Butch, Jamestown, NY, she was blessed with many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Wright in 2003, and a daughter Sharon Abbott in 1993.

Never has a mom been so loved except by her Lord, whose Love surpasses all understanding

There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Interment will be beside her husband at Burnside Cemetery.
