Lisa Diane Raybuck, 57, passed away at her home early on the morning of Tuesday, March 28, 2017.
She was born May 19, 1959, in Punxsutawney to Leo B. Engle and Helen (Collett) of Timblin. She is survived by her husband Randy of Sprankle Mills, her son Ben of Johnstown, her sister Debbie Phillips (Paul) of Timblin, her sister Lori Durante (Steve) of Port Matilda and her brother Jeff Engle of Timblin. She is preceded in death by her father.
Lisa graduated from Punxsutawney Area High School in 1977 and began working at the local branch of Keystone National Bank. She remembered the excitement of looking out her second floor office window at a time when the streets of Punxsutawney were vibrant and bustling with shoppers, especially on Friday nights.
In 1979, on a blind date, she met the love of her life, Randy Raybuck. The two married on September 11, 1982, and spent the first years of their marriage on a motorcycle attending bike rallies and flat-track racing events throughout the Northeast.
In 1985, they began building a mail-order business out of their basement. With Lisa at the helm, Raybuck Autobody Parts grew into a national brand that still operates today (under new ownership), selling sheet metal replacement parts for trucks and vans to body shops and do-it-yourselfers across the country.
In 1989, the couple had their only child, Benjamin. Ben and Lisa were inseparable and shared fond memories of hot summer days when she played hooky from work to meet Randy for lunch or to go swimming with friends. As a family, Lisa, Randy and Ben took frequent trips in their RV--nicknamed "The Silver Bullet"--counting Myrtle Beach and Disney World among their favorite destinations.
Lisa knew the Bible like a scholar and was a member of Saint John's Reformed Church in Sprankle Mills. She was also a founding board member of the Punxsutawney Christian School.
Lisa loved loud foot-tapping rock n' roll and quiet evenings at her home in Sprankle Mills. She had a flair for design and was as hard-working as she was clever. She sang while she did housework and wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty or learn something new. She loved American stories of days gone by, especially Gone With the Wind and Little House on the Prairie. At potluck dinners, her dishes were the first to empty. She was happiest with a purring cat at her side.
All who wish to say goodbye can join her family Friday between 6-8 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney. Service will be held at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Johnny Stockdale officiating.
Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery.
