Marie B. (Sivanich) Snedden

Marie B. Snedden, 94, of Hollidaysburg, formerly of Anita, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, August 22, 2022, at Garvey Manor Nursing Home in Hollidaysburg.

She was born August 13, 1928, to John and Bertha (Carol) Sivanich in Anita. Marie was an employee of G.C. Murphy Co.. She married Matthew W. Snedden on July 14, 1951, and during their 60 years of marriage, they traveled to 49 states.

Marie was a member of the Saint Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Punxsutawney.   She loved cooking, baking apple pies, cinnamon buns, and most especially pagach. She was always volunteering at the church to make pierogies. Most of all, Marie enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by a son Kenneth Snedden and wife Marjorie of Chambersburg; two daughters, Diane Shenosky and husband Thomas of Draper, UT, and Leigh Ann Craig and husband Barry of Hollidaysburg; six grandchildren, Lisa Snedden Markle (Chris), Ryan Shenosky, Michael Snedden, Todd Shenosky (Lisa), Ashleigh Craig (fiance Matthew Wolf), and Lauren Frieko (Jacob); and three great-grandchildren, JT, Matthew, and Maryrose Shenosky.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Snedden, on April 20, 2012, two sisters, Pauline Mickasnovich and Ethel Lellock, and two brothers, John Sivanich and Cornell Sivanich.

Friends will be received on Friday, August 26, 2022, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the McCabe Funeral Home Inc., 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA, 15767.

A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Saint Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 714 Sutton St., Punxsutawney, PA, 15767.

Interment will follow at the Saint Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Cemetery.
