Martha L. Hinderliter

Martha L. Hinderliter, 92, of Ringgold, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Jefferson Manor.

She was born on November 6, 1931, to the late Russell and Alta (Guthrie) Himes in Beaver Township.

Martha was a devoted wife to her late husband Robert Allen Hinderliter, whom she married the day after Christmas, December 26, 1953. She belonged to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brookville. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cleaning and gardening. She also liked genealogy. When she wasn’t attending to housework or her garden, she spent the rest of her time devoted to reading her scriptures.

Martha is survived by a son, Michael Hinderliter (Lois), Mayport; a brother, Schenley Himes, Du Bois; a sister, Geraldine Reardon, Blooming Glen; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Berry (Kett), Brookville; nine grandchildren, Angela Storms (Timothy), Punxsutawney, Adam Hinderliter (Elena), Anita, Amanda Toy, Ernest, David Hinderliter, Woodstock, Virginia, Megan Nielsen (Matt), Utah, Lisa Johnson, Brookville, Troy Hinderliter (Anna), Punxsutawney, Tia Hinderliter, Utah, Jill Oliver (James), Pittsburgh; eighteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Steven Wayne Hinderliter, and six siblings.

The visitation will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024, at McCabe Funeral Home, 114 Maple Avenue, Punxsutawney from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM with Bishop Siebach officiating.  Interment will follow at Ringgold Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers and as an expression of gratitude to Kaitlyn from Penn Highlands Hospice and the nursing staff of Jefferson Manor for their wonderful care of Martha in her time of need, the family would like donations to be made to Penn Highland Hospice, 757 Johnsonburg-Saint Mary’s Road # 200, St. Mary’s, PA 15857.
