Olive I. Pifer

Olive I. Pifer, 96, of Reynoldsville, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024 at home with her family by her side.

She was born August 24, 1927 to the late Russell and Olive (Long) Timblin.

Olive was a devoted wife to her husband Harlen Ray Pifer, and their love flourished for 67 years. She was a bookkeeper, accountant, and assistant manager for her husband’s many businesses. They worked side by side during a long and productive career. As well as a wife and business partner, Olive created a wonderful home life for her family, extended family, and friends by entertaining, cooking, care giving, and creating memories for all. She was always there to help everyone with wisdom beyond her years. She was a caregiver for many people all her life, and even as a young girl, she helped her older sisters, while losing her own mother at the age of 20. She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting, baking, outdoor activities, and seeing others happy. During her life she showed a remarkable ability to persevere in all kinds of situations. 

Olive is survived by her son Harold R. Pifer, Reynoldsville; her daughter Linda Altany (Ron), Natrona Heights; four grandchildren, Laurie Ann Pifer, Reynoldsville, Howard R. Pifer (Mindie), Punxsutawney, David R. Libbon (Lisa), Hanahan, South Carolina, Jonathan R. Libbon (Stephanie), Bethel Park; seven great grandchildren, Parker and Olivia Pifer, Hannah Fetterman, Abbigail and Natalie Libbon, and Leah and Noah Libbon; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Harlen Ray Pifer, four brothers, Donald, Robert, Warren, and Leroy Timblin, and three sisters, Helen Deahl, LeVera Miller, and Theron Spotts. 

In lieu of flowers the family would like a donation to be made to the Paradise United Church of Christ, 4225 Big Run-Prescottville road, Reynoldsville PA 15851.

The services are private and have been entrusted to McCabe Funeral Home, Inc., 114 Maple Avenue, Punxsutawney, PA.
