Patricia A. Uzzo

Patricia A. Uzzo, 75 of Punxsutawney, passed away on Saturday August 24, 2024, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. 

She was born October 19, 1948, to Louis J. and Mary Louise (Petkash) Vizza in Punxsutawney.

Patti was a member of the Saint Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church in Punxsutawney. She was a 1966 graduate of Punxsutawney High School. Patti then received her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her master’s degree from Clarion University. She taught in the Punxsutawney Area School District for 34 years, teaching first grade at Mapleview and Bell Township Elementary Schools. She was active in the Youth Commission and card club. She enjoyed gardening, relaxing on the back porch, reading, bird watching, playing Wordle with her son and visiting with her neighbor Trish. Most of all she loved taking care of her family. 

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, William “Bill” Uzzo, Punxsutawney, two sons, Joel M. Uzzo (Leslie), Murrysville, Ryan C. Uzzo (Danielle), Verona, two nieces, Kassidy R. Leitch (Lee), and Krystal R. Vrobel (Joel), both of Punxsutawney, an aunt, Evelyn Williams, CA, and an uncle, Thomas Vizza (Joann), Reynoldsville. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Rick Vizza.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 4-8 PM at the McCabe Funeral Home Inc., 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 1:00 PM at the Saint Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church, 616 West Mahoning Street, Punxsutawney, PA 15767.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Punxsutawney, PA
