Paul E. Reitz, 99, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Dec. 23, 2024, at Mulberry Square in Punxsutawney. 

He was born April 11, 1925, to John and Mabel (Wise) Reitz in New Salem, Armstrong County. 

After high school, Paul served three years with the Army Air Corps during WWII. He then made his career as a specialized carpenter building furniture, using skills he learned while helping his father build houses from a young age; and he eventually retired from Crawford Furniture. After retirement, he kept busy remodeling houses and building cabinets and furniture for friends and family.

He is survived by two sons; Barry Reitz and wife Diane, DE and Randy Reitz and wife Susan, Edinboro, three daughters; Sue Reitz, Punxsutawney, Brenda Guidice and husband Phil, Indiana and Marianna Marley and husband Fred, Punxsutawney, 16 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by, his first wife Doris Claypoole in 1967, his second wife Joyce Yount, in 2016, a son Roger Reitz, five brothers; James, Clyde, Darrel, Harold and Willis, seven sisters; Magilda Troutman, Dora McConnell, Grace Reitz, Wilda Reitz, Helen Reitz, Ruth Klingensmith and Joan Yeager. 

Friends will be received on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM at the McCabe Funeral Home, Inc., 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767.

Military Honors will be performed by the Jefferson County Veteran’s Honor Guard.
