Randon R. Mottern

Randon “Randy” R. Mottern, 72, passed away on December 16, 2024, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Randy graduated from Punxsutawney Area High School in 1970 and went into the welding industry. He married the love of his life, Debra S. Gotwald, on December 12, 1984. He attended St. Peters United Church of Christ and was a member of Local 354 Plumbers & Pipefitters Union as well as the Punxsy Eagles #1234. He enjoyed being outdoors and found humor in all things and enjoyed making people laugh. Randy was an animal lover - especially his three cats. Randy was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather and he was a friend to one and all.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, three daughters; Marcey A. Bish (Blaine) of Eagle River, Alaska, Teresa D. Atwell (Tim), of Brookville, and Alicia R. Hurd (Rob) of Woodbridge, Virginia; four grandchildren, Alyssa Bish, Ryan Bish, Hunter Atwell and Amber Hurd; a brother, Tom Mottern (Cindy), of Georgia; a sister, Kathy Bianco of Punxsutawney; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Cloy and Mary Belle (Finch) Mottern.

There will be no public visitation, and the services have been entrusted to McCabe Funeral Home, Inc., 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA, 15767.

Interment will take place at Barton Chapel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Randy’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
