Richard B. Knox, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Indiana Regional Medical Center.

He was born April 9, 1931 to Virgil S. and Marion Ruth (Zener) Knox in Punxsutawney.

Richard was a lifelong member of the Covode Methodist Church and was formerly active in the United Methodist Men’s group. Richard worked at Pearce Repair Shop in Marchand before becoming self-employed. He never had idle time. He was always doing something, everything from building pole barns, setting water pumps and eventually entering into the plumbing and heating business. He was very involved with the Covode Ramp Ministry for the Punxsutawney area. Richard went on over ten Mission trips to the Dominican Republic, and also went on Mission trips to help with the Hurricane Katrina relief effort. He enjoyed reading and making items in his wood working shop. Richard and his wife Aileen were avid campers, visiting almost every state. He volunteered at Camp Alleghany and helped with maintenance there. Most of all Richard loved spending time with his family. 

He is survived by three sons: William S. Knox and wife Jeanne, AZ, Keith R. Knox and wife Fonda, and Kevin L. Knox and wife Cathy, a daughter, Alice M. Lattimer and a son in-law Edwin Daugherty, all of Rochester Mills, ten grandchildren: Katherine Fischer (Shawn), David Daugherty (Morgan), Jeanna Lattimer, Jennifer Plummer (Donnie), James W. Lattimer III (Megan), Candi Kish (Brian), Steven Knox (Jillian), Eric Knox (Nikki), Kayla Webb (Jared) and Canaan Knox (Ashlyn), and fifteen Great grandchildren, four step- grandchildren Alicia Pratt, Gina Kimble, William Goff and Ashley Goff, and eleven step-Great grandchildren, a brother, Kenneth Knox and wife Harriett, Rochester Mills, a sister, Clara Cressley, Punxsutawney, two brothers-in law Dale Hoover, OK, and John Dinger, Punxsutawney, sisters-in-law Ione Hoover, IN, June Knox, Valencia, Jennie Knox, Brockway and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Aileen Knox in 2020, a daughter, Grace Daugherty, son-in-law James Lattimer, brothers, John, Charles, Ralph, Clark, Donald and Harold Knox, sisters, Martha Jobe, Frances Godo and two infant sisters.

Friends will be received on Friday from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at the McCabe Funeral Home Inc., 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767 with Pastor Jared Webb officiating.

Interment will take place at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville, PA 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Covode Methodist Church, in care of the Ramp Ministry, 575 Knox Road, Rochester Mills, 15771.
