Richard S. Painter

Richard S. Painter, 71, of Rochester Mills, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at his home.

He was born August 11, 1952 to the late Ernest and Dorothy (Haight) Painter in Punxsutawney.

Richard attended Marion Center area schools.  He worked at N.A.C. Carbon and Asplundh Tree Service. He enjoyed hunting, working on cars, and always keeping an eye out for Big Foot. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janet L. (Mallory) Painter, Rochester Mills, three children; Jason A. Painter (Stacy Domb), Punxsutawney, Tara E. Painter (Randy Shank), Rossiter, Steven R. Painter (Melissa) Rossiter, five granddaughters; Bree Maines (Dustin), Jada Whittaker (Dallas), Shilynn Shank (Devin Johnson) Hannah Painter, and Makenzie Painter, ten great grandchildren, two brothers, Ernest P. Painter, Jr. Rochester Mills, and David Painter, Glen Campbell, two sisters, Donna McCullough, Heilwood, and Sandra Painter (Ernie Siverling), Valier, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother John Painter and a grandson. 

Friends will be received Friday, January 19, 2024 from 3-7 PM and also from 10:00 AM until the time of service 
at 11:00 AM at the McCabe Funeral Home, Inc., 114 Maple Avenue, Punxsutawney, PA. 

Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Rossiter.
