Rose Ella Curry of Mahaffey passed away at home on October 22, 2024. Her family was by her side

She was born February 24, 1935 in Burnside to Albert “Blair” and Clara (Weaver) Gearhart.

She was salutatorian of her graduating class at Mahaffey High School and she attended Dubois Business College.

She was a homemaker who baked, canned, gardened and cared for animals on the family farm. She enjoyed caring for her children and grandchildren, and her children and grandchildren loved her very much. She was a member of Susquehanna Church where she kept the books and did extensive fundraising. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

Rose is survived by two sons; Scott (Char) Curry, Mahaffey, and Matt (Karla) Curry, Carlisle; and a daughter, Mary Beth (Adam) Earnheardt, Youngstown, Ohio. 

Additionally, she is survived by her grandchildren; Evelyn (Kent) Billen, Will (Jennifer) Curry, Conan (Sophia) Curry, Mike (Macey) Curry, Caleb (Morgan) Curry, Ella Earnheardt, Kate Earnheardt, Sadie Earnheardt, and Oscar Earnheardt; her brothers-in-law Larry (Butch) Curry and Ron Curry. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Curry; a brother, Blair Gearhart; two sisters, Donna Gearhart and Lou Ann Gearhart; sisters-in-law Mary Gearhart, Karen Bond, Dot Curry and Margie Curry and her in-laws Oscar and Katherine Curry. 

The services are private and in the care of Waldron Funeral Home, 831 Market Street, Mahaffey, PA, 15757.
