Samuel J. Gattuso

Samuel J. Gattuso, 102, passed away at DuBois Nursing Home on August 22, 2024.

Samuel was born on March 25, 1922, to Joseph and Mary (Longo) Gattuso in Punxsutawney.

He attended the Punxsutawney Area High School before going to a mechanical school in Blairsville. On June 29, 1980, he married his wife Elizabeth (Ringled) Gattuso. He later opened up Gattuso’s Repair shop where he worked for over 50 years before retiring.

Samuel is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Elizabeth Gattuso; a nephew, Joe Pride (Abbie), Punxsutawney; and four nieces, Diane Reitz (Randy), Punxsutawney, Lynn Cappella (Champ), Punxsutawney, Karin Mentz (Ron), Erie, and Suzanne Fitzgerald, North Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Guy Gattuso; a sister, Ange Pride; an infant brother; and a nephew, Guy Gattuso.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Saint Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church, 616 W Mahoning St, Punxsutawney, PA 15767 with MSGR Joseph Riccardo celebrant.
