Shirley May Cappella

Shirley May Cappella, 90, of Punxsutawney, peacefully passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at her home with her niece by her side.

She was born March 18, 1935 to Carl A. and Florence J. (Whitsell) Raybuck in Punxsutawney.

She was married to Andrew Capella who preceded her in death January of 2006. Shirley attended the Assembly of God Church in Walston, and sang in the church choir for many years. A loving great aunt, she was dedicated to her Lord and Savior. Shirely enjoyed her church family and she was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, blessing people with her baking and cooking and her knitting and crocheting. She loved her dogs, meeting her friends Karen White and Helen Depp every Monday morning, reading her Bible faithfully and praying. She not only loved her family; she loved everyone she met and truly had a heart full of love.

She is survived by a brother, Clark G. Raybuck, FL, several nieces, great nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Clair Raybuck, a sister Katherine Fetterman and a niece Sheryl K. Watson.

Shirley was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

Friends will be received on Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 3-7 PM and also on Friday, April 18, 2025 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at the McCabe Funeral Home Inc., 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767, with Pastor Donald Pendley officiating.

Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
