Thomas E. Reitz

Thomas Edward Reitz, 61 of Summerville, passed away on Monday December 23, 2024.

He was born December 27, 1962, to Melvin and Virginia (Stephens) Reitz in Brookville.

He was a 1981 graduate of Brookville High School He worked as a Heavy Equipment operator for various coal companies. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, camping, traveling, and gardening. He was well known for his smoked meats. Tom had a heart of gold always helping his family, friends and neighbors.

He is survived by his parents, Melvin “Mick” and Virginia Reitz, Ohl, the love of his life, fiancé Eileen Minich, and her son Erich, Ringgold, five siblings, Margaret (Peg) Reitz, Punxsutawney, Betty Leasure, Marion Center, Melvin “Joe” and wife Darla Pearsall Reitz, Conifer, Richard “Dick” Reitz, Ohl, Susan Philp and husband Bryant, Sprankle Mills, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a niece, Stephanie H. Philp, a nephew, Adam C. Philp and a brother-in-law, Edward D. Leasure. 

Friends will be received on Sunday, from 1:00 PM until the time of service at 5:00 PM with Pastor Tom Verner, officiating, at the McCabe Funeral Home, Inc., 114 Maple Ave, Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
