Velma E. Bowser, 94 of Hillman, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Bowser was born June 4, 1921 in Hillman a daughter of the late Harvey E. and Wilda (Hetrick) Neal.
Velma was preceded in death by her husband William C. Bowser on January 13, 2013. She is also preceded by two brothers; Lyle and Duane Neal and one sister; Lelma Neal.
She was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Punxsutawney. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening.
Velma is survived by her daughter; Joy Hockinson and husband Bob of Hillman, two grandchildren; Nicole Gomola and husband Tom and Rob Hockinson. Six great grandchildren; Kayla August, Odessa, Brady and Bryce Horne, Harper Gomola and Maizee Hockinson.
Friends will be received from Noon until 2 pm Tuesday, March 29 at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney where a funeral service will be held at 2 pm with Pastor Tom Spiker officiating.
Private interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana County Hospice.
