Vivian A. Vance, 82 of Punxsutawney, peacefully passed away on Friday July 9, 2021 at
Christ the King personal care in DuBois.
She was born December 18, 1938 to James and Ruth (Davis) Hill, in Liberty, New York.
Vivian was a devoted Christ Follower, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandma and friend. Her calling on her life led her to serve as an elementary teacher and homemaker. She and her husband, Mel, served in churches all over Western Pennsylvania for over 35 years. In recent years, her grandkids were the apple of her eye. She was passionate about serving and loving others in any way possible. She loved music and playing her grand piano. She was actively involved in the First Church of God in Punxsutawney.
She is survived by two sons, Steve Vance, Lake Placid, NY, Doug Vance and wife Becky, four grandchildren, Emma Vance, Kayla Grohman, Jake Vance and Caleb Vance, and her
favorite dog Duchess.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Hill, Ruth (Davis) Hill, a sister, Virginia Hill, her husband, Melvin E. Vance, a brother, Richard Hill.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from, 4-7 PM at the McCabe Funeral Home Inc., 114 Maple Ave. Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
Friends will also be received on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the First Church of God, 23 Skyview Drive, Punxsutawney, PA 15767, where a celebration of life service will be held.
