Andy was born and raised right here in Punxsutawney, PA and started working at a local funeral home at the age of 16. Knowing he had found his future career, after graduating from Punxsutawney Area High School, he attended Indiana University of PA and then went on to graduate from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1998. After serving families as a Funeral Director in both Pennsylvania and Maryland, he was presented with the opportunity to become the owner of two funeral homes in his hometown. Since 2019, Andy has been providing families with the best care at their worst times in the Punxsutawney and Mahaffey communities. On the rare occasions he has free time, he enjoys spending time with Kimber and Abigail, cooking and the outdoors.
Lori grew up right here in Punxsutawney and graduated from Punxsutawney Area High School. After graduating from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, she moved back to Punxsy and met her husband Dan. She spent thirteen years as a stay-at-home mom raising their two sons, Jake and Andy. Upon returning to the workforce, she spent twelve years in the monument business. She recently joined the team at McCabe Funeral Home, Inc. and Waldron Funeral Home as the Office Manager and also as a Monument Specialist. When she’s not keeping the office running like clockwork or assisting customers with their monument purchase, she spends her time antiquing, decorating, gardening, camping and traveling with her husband and their dog, Charlie.
Mary was born and raised in the small mining town of Colver, PA in Cambria County. After graduating from Central Cambria High School, she attended the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse in both Spangler, PA and Lancaster, PA before moving to Punxsutawney in 1973. She retired from Punxsutawney Area Hospital after 37 years. Mary has two daughters, Leslie and Renee, as well as two granddaughters and three grandsons. When she’s not greeting people with her warm smile and easy conversation as they arrive at our funeral homes for visitations and services, she enjoys watching Hallmark movies, doing word search puzzles and helping others by volunteering at Birdies Free Medical Clinic.
Debbie Jo was born and raised in the West End of
Punxsutawney and has resided for 45 years in the home she built with her husband in the nearby village of Johnsonburg. After raising her three children, Steven, Sean and Shanna, she worked at County Market grocery store for 17 years and then obtained her CNA and worked as a caregiver for many years. Debbie Jo likes to keep busy cleaning for her church, mowing and tending to her flowers. When she’s not welcoming visitors with her kind and caring manner as they arrive at our funeral homes for visitations and services, she enjoys riding her Harley, spending time with family and watching NASCAR.
Gary was born and raised in Punxsutawney. After graduating from Punxsutawney Area Highschool he spent his working years at Thermal Guard Building Products. When Gary isn’t busy keeping our buildings, grounds and vehicles in tip top shape, he enjoys spending time with his family and riding his motorcycle with his wife, Joanne.
Kris was born and raised in North Versailles, PA and graduated from Norwin High School. She went on to earn an Associates Degree in Astrophysics from Saint Vincent College; and then shifted her career goals to Mortuary Science graduating from Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in January 2024. She joined our staff in March to complete her required one year internship under the guidance of owner Andrew R. Philliber, Funeral Director. When she is not busy learning and assisting in all aspects of the funeral home business, she enjoys crafting, crocheting, and attending concerts and festivals.
Kimber is a 7-year-old Golden Retriever who has grown up in the funeral business. When she is not busy greeting people she enjoys going for walks, playing ball and spending time with her Dad.
Abigail is Kimber’s big sister and keeps her age to herself. She is a very rare breed known to all who love her as a “Pathetic Napper”. When she’s not greeting people, she enjoys treats, pet time and most of all napping.
